5 Day Shanghai City Tour Tour code: SWE05 Itineray: Shanghai - Shanghai Pudong - World Expo Day 1: Arrive in Shanghai Upon arrival at Shanghai airport, you will be met and transferred via coach to your choice of the selected hotels for your four nights stay. Rest of the day is at leisure. Day 2: Shanghai (B/L) A full day of sightseeing will introduce you to the sights and sounds of this unique and modern city of Shanghai. Visit the Bund, known as the "Wall Street" of the former foreign powers, where, during the first half of the 20th century the European powers controlled the Chinese economy. Visit the majestic Yu Yuan Garden, built in 1577 and recently restored to its original splendour. Next, visit the Jade Buddha Temple. After lunch, visit the famous Shanghai Museum, housing the city's priceless collection of bronzes, porcelain and paintings. This evening enjoy an amazing Chinese acrobatic show. Day 3: Shanghai - Zhujiajiao - Shanghai (B/L) Today, travel to Zhujiajiao, an ancient water town well known throughout the country, with a history of more than 1700 years. Covering an area of 47 square kilometres, the little fan-shaped town glimmers like a bright pearl in the landscape of lakes and mountains. It is said that to visit Zhujiajaio without seeing the bridges means that you have not really been to Zhujiajiao at all! Bridges in the town are distinctive and old, built during Ming and Qing Dynasties. The old town is thoroughly connected by 36 delicate spans in different shapes and styles, from wooden to stone to marble. Day 4: Shanghai (B) Free day to explore the Shanghai World Expo on your own. Day 5: Depart Shanghai (B) Transfer to the airport for your return flight home or to your next destination.
